A Dutch sniper lets a child pose on veterans day with the Barret M-82 this weapon is easily capable of taking somebody’s head clean off from a mile away, through a solid concrete wall. This rifle is able to literally rip apart a human being. Its very saddening and sickening to see that they let children pose with this horrifying murderous weapon.
“State propaganda, when supported by the educated classes and when no deviation is permitted from it, can have a big effect. It was a lesson learned by Hitler and many others, and it has been pursued to this day.”
You’re making false claims about the capability of this weapon. It does posess a extremely high ballistic coefficient but it cannot blow your head clean off through a wall at 1000 yards.
The barrett itself is more of a gimmicky weapon that a true tactical deployment. common myths include:
"The shockwave of the bullet can tear your arm off even if the shooter misses.”
False. The sheer disruption of air around a flying object smaller than your thumb is not going to detach a limb from your body.
"It can take someones head clean off at over a mile!”
>how do I into terminal ballistics? Though the round (usually 670 gr. or so) carries quite a bit of kinetic energy, it’s penetration velocity and energy transference are not even close to being intense enough to remove the head from someones body.
"Its so powerful, it can bring down a commercial jet in one shot!”
We have weapons designed to fire larger rounds than this, at a rate of 4,500 rounds per minute (thats 75 rounds a second btw), to BRING DOWN AIRCRAFT. And they still have trouble sometimes. So let’s put this “mythbusters” worthy bullshit aside.
I could do this all day. The Barrett M82, though ridiculously enjoyable to shoot, is insanely expensive for civilian ownership and in the battlefield it’s not as tactically applicable as you might think. Hardly the “instrument of mass death and destruction” that you people like to make it out to be. Hey, gotta have ‘dem buzzwords though, right?
I suppose you could say I am quite familiar with this weapon.
